Removal of the Greenbelt in the Niagara area to substitute with pollution associated with increased urbanization and traffic flow has lasting direct and direct implications for farmlands in the area. Such a rapid expansion without a clear plan for the increased demands on the infrastructure prior to the completion of such a widespread expansion will lead to bottlenecking and increased issues with transportation from the US border through to Vaughan. What will the increased traffic ramifications be on the transportation of goods... Though increase in homebuilding will lead to increase in taxation to support the infrastructure expansion, will there be government incentives prior to the commencement of the construction, for existing homeowners to help offset the long term costs and implications on our grid and existing resources. (i.e. similar incentives that are seen in some states to subsidize or once again allow the reselling of energy back to the grid to encourage people from reducing the strain and helping to offset some of the upcoming expenses.) There are many long-term and peripheral implications to consider. Are there industries coming to these areas to support the population influx or will everyone be commuting towards the already heavily populated areas. Is there consideration for the building footprint negatively impacting upon the tourism appeal of visiting some of those green spaces?
