The green belt is vital to habitat protection and conservation. Protecting alternative land does not have the same impact - the point of the green belt is a significant enough swath of land with PERMANENT protection that animal and plant species can have habitat corridors than ensure their survival in southern Ontario. Developing parts of the green belt with result in habitat loss and flooding. Southern Ontario NEEDS the green belt. Houses can be built elsewhere. Once this habitat is gone it’s gone forever. SAVE THE GREENBELT
