I have lived in Ontario for 20 years - my family even longer. I vehemently oppose removing some of the green belt (even if “temporarily”) to increase housing. Governments change, but our environment doesn’t. There is no guarantee that other land will now or ever be added to “replace” the green belt. The green belt is part of what makes southern Ontario so appealing, therefore it would be unwise to decrease its size.
Please expand UPWARD not OUTWARD. Improve transit. The highways can’t even handle the traffic it currently has, never mind if new houses are put up in its currently uninhabited land.
Take care of your current problems first before adding more.
Thank you!
