This plan, although cloaked in being a simple exchange of land from one place for some in another, is incredibly short sighted and detrimental. It does not take into consideration the historical and ecological importance of preserving soil and ecosystems. Not to mention the loss for future generations. Governments need to introduce more creative ways to create sustainable living/ housing instead of infringing on sacred ecological land. Stop putting minimum house sizes written into bylaws. Have incentives for purchasing homes that already exist. We know how valuable trees and green spaces are, not only for animals, our air and water quality but for our own physical and mental health. The science is clear.
