The proposal to amend the greenbelt plan is an ill-thought out, short-sighted, borderline illegal move by the current Ontario government (see Doug Ford's donors who have nicely aligned themselves to profit handsomely). It puts at risk our future and that of our children particularly given what we know about climate change. The plan to build housing should look to encourage density rather than sprawl. This plan needs to be stopped on its tracks as we Ontarians are facing the barrel of a gun in this critical moment. Carrying this plan through will have irreparable damage and we need to do things intelligently and with great care, with people and our planet in mind.
