Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to the development of this legislation. I disagree with it fundamentally. I did not elect you to do this. Instead:
* I want a climate change plan that will reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.
* I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can spend it developing the clean energy sector.
* I want legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement.
* I want Ontario to be 100% powered by clean energy by 2050.
* I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions.
I want to ensure my grandchildren have a quality of life that includes working and playing in clean air, with access for any and all to trees, birds, fish and wildlife, whether in a rural or urban environment. I'm 65. We're currently at 33% powered by renewable energy. I want to see progress on this in my lifetime, which may not be 2050. To go from 33% to 100% in 30 years, we need to see an increase of at least 2% a year. You have four years to make up 8%. Get to work!! For us and for our children!!
