Opening up the greenbelt for developers profits is shameful development within our democracy and not the solution to our housing crisis. Opening up and rezoning within the city of Toronto and surronding suburbs should be the first priority. Building more cookie cutter homes will only add to road congestion, infrastructure stress and lead to a decrease in EVERYONES quality of life, except for the developers profitting off the destruction of our collective environment. The protection of the Greenbelt should be of the highest priority for this province. Not only does it provide an essential Greenspace for the millions of people in the gta it also protects natural habits for many ecosystems that we rely on for a healthy environment. The greenbelt is something this provience should strive to protect and keep for our future generations, not open up to cookie cutter developers to profit on our collective land.
