I can't believe that a shortage of land is at the root of our housing problem. More urban sprawl in the form of single family houses which encroach on the greenbelt is not the right approach. We need more density in the core - more low rise developments in neighbourhoods that have zoning laws that prohibit anything but single family homes. City of Toronto has land they could and should be selling for redevelopment. The same is no doubt true in other smaller cities.
