The environment is universally important to Ontarians. It doesn't discriminate and changes to it will ripple across our provincial economy, healthcare system and infrastructure. Setting a price on carbon is a market based approach to dealing with climate change. I support a free market, and I would hope the Ontario government does too. Setting a price on carbon allows those who choose to produce more carbon an organized way to do so. The free market will decide how those costs are absorbed across marketplace participants. Since the stakes of climate change are so high, this collective revenue is needed to protect of economic interests in Ontario. To legitimate supporter of the free market has a problem with government revenue supporting transportation infrastructure or a strong legal system as these work to keep Ontario competitive and protect our economic interests. Climate change mitigation is just another issue that must be managed for the good of Ontario's economy, workers, consumers, taxpayers and citizens. We elect you to mange all of these things for us, so we can prosper in the private sector. Please act on this and implement a carbon pricing strategy. Thanks.
