Building on the Greenbelt - whether or not you think adding extra land elsewhere makes up for it - is a slippery slope. This decision making exemplifies short term greed over what is best for us in the long term. The very best agricultural land in Ontario is in the Great-Lakes St. Lawrence Lowlands... and sprawl is eating it up. We can't get it back once it is gone, and we can't make more elsewhere.
