I'm against Bill 4 because it puts Ontario further back on our obligations for climate and emissions control. While the cap and trade has been shown to be ineffective in other areas of the world, other parts of the existing plan are still useful. So why scrap the existing plan and the hundreds of jobs that the "clean" economy has created?
We should be ending the subsidies to the fossil fuel companies and re-directing these to climate issues.
As Bill 4 states, the Minister has to come up with another climate plan so why not leave the existing one in place and then amend it to reflect any relevant changes once this is done?
This just sounds like another knee jerk move without having the proper consultation done before acting.
