Wetlands are critical to flood prevention in a time of increasing extreme weather events. I have no faith in developers to "construct" wetlands in a way that retains the function and biodiversity of the original. There is plenty of land to develop without building on and around wetlands. Changing the evaluation system only opens the door to developer interests at the expense of environmental preservation - something we ought to be taking seriously given the increasing threat of extreme weather events (i.e. rainfall) now and into the future.

I am in complete opposition to these proposed updates and am ashamed they are even being considered in the first place.
