The province must allow many more months for Ontarians to discuss and debate its housing strategy. A plan that permanently impacts the environment and protected lands cannot be rushed. Further, the costs that municipalities would incur from the proposed changes will result in significant costs to Ontarians via property taxes.
The people of Ontario need time to understand the changes and how they would benefit, as well as the negative impacts of the proposed changes. The way this bill has been handled is disappointing and unacceptable. The province deserves better.
