I am deeply concerned about the loss of farmland, forest and specifically wetland loss that removing the proposed amendments would bring. Wetlands benefit all of us in many ways, including the role they play in flood control, water filtration, erosion control, sediment retention and enhanced landscape resilience in the face of climate change.
The focus cannot be on further urban sprawl which only causes Ontarians to spend more of their money and time commuting to jobs and local services. We need to built adorable, accesible housing in the places that we live, not sell off critical Greenbelt space that protects all of us.
