Our family is strongly against any proposals in any Ontario government policy directive that weakens, diminishes, circumvents, substitutes or overrides:
1. Ontario Wetland Evaluation System as it currently exists.
2. Municipalities ability to rule on individual landowners development plans.
3. Conservation Authorities ability to protect, in whole or in part any headwaters, wetlands, waterways and floodplains within their respective jurisdictional watershed.
In summary, we are against any policy proposal that risks the further degradation of Ontario's biodiversity or natural environment.
Making housing affordable and accessible in Ontario should be a priority, but we need to make maximum use land within existing municipal boundaries. This can be done better and more efficiently by reclaiming abandoned brownfields, redeveloping unused and underused spaces with existing infrastructure.
Stop unnecessary sprawl.
