I'm very disturbed by the proposal to repeal the Cap and Trade program. British Columbia has successfully used a cap and trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, grow the economy, and return revenue to business and families. I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint. I want Ontario to follow through on our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement and I would like to see Ontario to be 100% powered by clean energy by 2050. I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions.
