I believe the bill is detrimental to our society and our province. We need this protected land to help mitigate floods, protect our wildlife, and reduce our carbon footprint. This bill also guts our conservation authorities which isn't a forward thinking plan.
This bill is aggressive and abuses power by bypassing standard oversights that ensure proper planning is conducted. Planning powers of multiple municipalities will be removed with this bill which could lead to uncoordinated development. Not to mention the shortfall for taxes with this proposed bill. The money has to come from somewhere which could potentially be homeowners paying more money. They are already burdened with high interest rates.
Please reconsider this approach and take more time with more consultation from all parties affected.
