Hello,
I've been a resident of Grimsby for nearly 30 years now. Over that time we've seen such drastic expansion of condominium builds within the town along with huge amounts of population influx. Much of the natural beauty of the area has been uprooted and turned into unsightly high rises. Highway 8 and Main St have become so clustered with traffic constantly as a byproduct of this. Opening up that area for more development would simply lead to more of this.
However, up the mountain through ridge road there lies a large amount of open spaces restricted by the green belt, many of which are simply empty fields, especially on the south side. Opening up these areas instead for residential growth may be the better option. Allow large plots of land to become severed and thereby more accessible for single family builds. Routing population traffic out of the main core and dispersing it as well.
