The effects of climate change are already, and will continue to be, devastating, both environmentally and economically. The science is clear: this isn't going away, and we can't afford to ignore it.

Canada made commitments in Paris, and I want Ontario to establish legally binding emissions targets that will helps us achieve those commitments and hold our heads up in the world. I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, reduce energy use, and create jobs in a green economy.

Experts agree that the best way to reduce emissions is to put a price on emissions. Cap and trade isn't perfect, but it's a start. The money raised by putting a price on emission should go toward developing a green energy industry.

And I want Ontario to end subsidies and other handouts to fossil fuel companies.

We have an opportunity to lead the world -- let's not squander it.
