Bill 23 is a huge overreach of provincial legislation. It should not be allowed to exist. It threatens wetlands, animal habitats and endangered species. Taking pollution out as a reason to not develop an area is dangerous and ignores future populations. We need homes, but earth is our primary home and we have to develop homes on property that can sustain us. How will we feed all the people moving to our country without the Greenbelt? What air quality will they have? We already have a population of 1.1 million Canadians disabled with severe environmental sensitivities. We do not need to increase our issues by fast tracking the destruction of our green spaces.
