As resident of Hamilton I view the proposed changes to the Greenbelt as utterly ineffective in achieving the stated goals. If the government wants to work on the housing crisis there are many options that don't include impinging on prime agricultural land.
The areas that will be affected in this area will only result in rate increases as we have to pay to connect municipal services to low density housing which will service a small amount of people fleeing the GTA's housing crisis, rather than converting or redeveloping the many potential areas within the existing city limits.
I am strongly opposed to these changes, they seem to be motivated to benefit a few developers who have made very large investments in these areas in the recent past.
