I am a citizen of this province and have been my entire life and I have never seen such blatant disregard for the citizens of Ontario and democracy with the removal of the greenbelt protections. The town of Erin Ontario disputes the replacement land is in any way relatable and the purpose of protecting designated land is so that it remains protected. The Conservative Government's own study concludes there is sufficient land to build on without touching protected land, land this government said they would not touch. Further, the flooding that can follow such a short sighted plan will cost in the billions. Build up, not out. Sprawl begets sprawl and the only winners are the developers. We have an environment and a future to think about. Short-sighted greed is just that.
