I feel very strongly that this move to open the greenbelt is a terrible idea for the future of our communities and our environments. It is not a move to develop affordable housing and help people who truly need a roof above their head, it is simply to line the pockets of developers. Doug Ford and Steven Clark don't have to live with the choices they make but their grandchildren and all of our grandchildren will suffer form displacing vulnerable flora and fauna for more McMansions. the idea that the government can "make up" for developing certain areas by adding to the greenbelt in others is laughable. This government should stop gaslighting the people of Ontario by defaulting to the messaging that "there is a housing crisis". This solution does not help the housing crisis one iota. Shame on Clark and Ford for literally lying to the people of Ontario.
