I am completely against this Bill and I am appalled that the bill was passed prior to even the closure of this public consultation period.
This bill is awful in multiple ways.
1. Some land being added is already part of other conservation efforts. Double dipping does not result in a net positive.
2. Some land is part of established towns. Has anyone looked at the map? https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2022/11/29/doug-fords-plan-to-suddenly…
3. According to this report, this bill will not resolve housing issues. https://www.ontario.ca/page/housing-affordability-task-force-report
4. We will have more natural disasters and feel climate change more deeply as a result of nature being destroyed near the GTHA
5. We need the greenbelt to at least maintain our food security
6. This will result in additional strain on existing infrastructure. We cannot deal with more congestion!
