I am very strongly against the removal of any of the Greenbelt area as it has been designated in the already-existing plan. Replacing any of the current land with other areas that were not previously set aside for protection as part of the Greenbelt is a completely inadequate solution because the original Greenbelt plan set aside land for protection only after painstaking and thorough research and planning by experts. It should not be altered on a whim. It is not necessary to use Greenbelt land to build more housing as adequate space already exists to build it outside the Greenbelt. Destroying Greenbelt land will not help at all with increasing affordable housing. It is the shortage of affordable housing that is a crisis not unaffordable housing.
