when it comes to paving or housing over the greenbelt is their any consideration that by doing this it will negatively affect the biodiversity the ecosystems the richness of these lands the environment... once this happens it is lost forever . these lands have stored carbon that will be released into the atmosphere yet this does not seem to matter to some . on the other hand as climate change continues to affect us all... untouched land is rich for growing fruits & vegetables that will be needed for consumption both for its richness in lands & the ability to produce much needed food supplies the cost alone of importing these supplies will change radically .
do we need AFFORDABLE housing yes but most definitely NOT on these lands... we the people need these lands to nourish ourselves... we need space to appreciate the wonders of these lands not to destroy them . not all of us can afford cottages in order to get away... to enjoy nature is to appreciate the wonders that these areas provide . it is a reality that once these lands are taken its environment its biodiversity the many ecosystems that will be damaged will be lost forever .
