It's about time the CA's were instructed to get back to their mandate of controlling and managing public property and their respective watersheds. I have had two run ins with them and have been threatened with fines and jail sentences. One was for attempting to replace a driveway culvert which was in bad shape after 80 years of farm use....took five years , dozens of meetings and thousands of dollars in fines and permits to finally complete a 2 hour job of replacing a culvert. More recently I had plans to build a new barn - all of the sizes, set backs and other features are in accordance with the building codes and are certainly considered to be normal farm practice, but no, apparently the deer and turkeys visit the area I chose for the building...they prefer me to put the building in a productive field, rather than an unproductive mono-culture woodlot - which has been ravaged by two tornadoes and two seasons of gypsy moth infestations, and is now a fire hazard waiting to happen. This is why farmers are leaving the industry in droves - sheer stupidity...I for one am done...I am selling out and moving way...the lunatics are running the asylum and they have won. To the victors go the spoils...I hope they get what they deserve in the end. The ORMA effectively circumvented the planning act and rezoned my land without expropriation or compensation...it is plain outright theft....this doesn't happen in a real democracy....this is socialism at it's best...good luck there...that experiment is a worldwide failure.
