The government of Ontario should not remove any powers form the Conservation authority. It should not remove any of the existing protections of the land as it is because it could set a precedent for future land grabs by developers. The housing issue in the GTA could be alleviated by increasing housing density, strategic use of infill, and purchasing land outside of the green belt. Better urban planning will help ease the housing shortage, not further suburban sprawl and the deterioration of our green belt.
