I strongly disagree with the More Homes Built Faster Act – Bill 23 using part of the Greenbelt. The Greenbelt was designed to be a cohesive area that should be left intact and not sold off to developers to build homes. What will stop developers from demanding more sections be sold in the future if some sections are sold? Plenty of lands already available around the municipalities would be much easier to develop because of the close proximity to existing infrastructure. Developing the Greenbelt will only encourage more sprawl and force people to drive their cars causing more traffic congestion.
