This bill is bad in so many ways. It encourages sprawl, therefore increasing dependence on driving and all the resulting negative effects on the environment. It destroys wetlands, which 1) provide crucial flood control, 2) are home to myriad flora and fauna, and 3) are amazing carbon sinks, sequestering more carbon than forests. Has the Ford government not heard of climate change?? Instead of working to reduce impact on the climate, this bill seems to do everything possible to worsen it. And then there is the kneecapping of conservation authorities, leading to a host of problems for municipalities; AND it does not help increase the availability of affordable housing, which is supposedly the the purpose of this bill! Bad, bad, bad. This bill must be repealed!
