There was a promise before…

There was a promise before not to touch the Greenbelt. It’s not what the people of Ontario want. You should be adding to the Greenbelt, not taking away or balancing what you are taking. If we don’t protect our environment and resources now there won’t be a future for humanity. Plain and simple. There are so many more options to build in areas that can sustain development and ensure sustainable and affordable housing.
Your proposal is also not going to bring about affordable housing to the average person . Anything built on the Greenbelt will be a premium build and net the developers top dollar- on top of the fees you plan to slash.
I am also concerned about reports of who owns the land opening up and when it was purchased considering how long the Greenbelt has been protected. This doesn’t add up to a coincidence.
The entire bill seems unethical in so many ways and I urge you not to proceed.
