I am strongly against the destruction of the Greenbelt. It was supposed to be protected “In Perpetuity” which as far as I know means Forever, but apparently it means until someone with money wants to develop it. If we allow developers to start to carve up the Greenbelt then eventually there won’t be a Greenbelt left because it sets a dangerous precedent. To remove even 1 inch from the Greenbelt just once is all it takes. We need to stop thinking that we are apart FROM nature & start remembering that we are just a small part OF nature. If we destroy the planet we live on than we will have nowhere to go when the planet can no longer support us. Also, this is an egregious erosion of our democracy. And all of this is unnecessary as there is more than enough land within existing municipal boundaries for all the housing needed. Why are we carving up the Greenbelt?
