I understand the need for more housing but the Greenbelt is protected land, not for building homes. Bill 23 takes away conservation authority and there is no protection for the wetlands and species. This area is a protection against flooding, and the many species at risk. I am very concerned about having no guidelines, no conservation authority to monitor this area. We fought to have this area protected and the Conservative government "promised" to leave it alone. There is designated areas for housing and there is no need to touch the Greenbelt and the very necessary wetlands. Breaking this promise proves that this government cannot be trusted.
