Nothing in the opening statement above of Bill 23 is wrong. It is what is missing that is the problem. Building up and not out, means putting large commercial parking lots under buildings not beside them. Limiting the scope of the Conservation regulations to dealing with overcoming natural hazards severely limits the protections of habitat corridors and species that rely on them. The pressure placed on these conservation lands can be released with more thoughtful expansion of the criteria developers must meet, when looking forward to how future generations will benefit from the decisions we make today.
