I believe that highway 413 would make issues worse in a number of ways such as impacting wildlife and health. "If highway 413 is built, it could lead to 17.4 million extra tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles by 2050" (McGillivray, 2021). This would have a devastating impact on our health care system as individuals would be affected by pollution and it would cause damage to local ecology. Another point that I would like to highlight is that "highway 413 will not improve congestion, a highway will add new cars to the roads rather than spread out the number of people currently driving (McGillivray, 2021). These are all things that need to be thoroughly considered before making a decision.
