I am concerned that the proposed changes to the Greenbelt will have a negative impact on future generations. There are many factors causing hardships in the world today, but a very pressing one is the climate crisis which is expected to worsen. Ontario must be prepared or there may be consequences.
Ontario must protect what farmland, and natural areas we have left. Ontario needs it's farms to safeguard us from the rising cost of food, and soon to be shortage of food due to climate pressures. Ontario must also protect it's natural areas, and certainly our wetlands, to safeguard us from natural disasters, such as flooding, which is currently the costliest type of natural disaster in Ontario.
There is land available outside of the greenbelt protected areas, even within urban boundaries where smart and sustainable development can occur, and Units can be created that people want to live in, where they want to live.

Spencer S.
