It is evident that this proposal does not take into the consideration the wants and needs of the biggest stakeholders in all of this - the community. The proposed highway, which will use a valuable chunk of tax-payer money during an economically challenging time, is not only detrimental to the environment, adding millions of tonnes of carbon emissions, but will actually add to traffic, hence negating any real benefit to Ontarians. Rather than spending money on a new highway, investments should be made on existing infrastructure such as transit.
