Simply, sprawl does not address Ontario's growing housing emergency, and opening up the greenbelt will lead to increased food insecurity and contribute to continued rising costs of living. Further areas earmarked for development are susceptible floodplain areas which the federal government has already pointed out as a major risk to damage of those future homes, which will inevitably fall on the shoulders of those future residents. In short, this in an awful plan that only serves to provide enrichment to the developers and long term suffering for Ontarians. Please see reason and repeal this atrocious piece of legislation.
