The city of Hamilton has made the decision to not encroach on the greenbelt through a lengthy process of public consultations. They made a decision as a community to build up rather than out. How can the Provincial government override this decision? After all this time and money spent, it is not fair. Significant farm land is being destroyed in Ontario to build homes in the greenbelt. Are we really ok with putting our food supply in peril? We all know that the reason for lack of housing in Ontario is NOT because of lack of land. Doug Ford made a promise not to touch the greenbelt and people elected him because of this promise. This isn't right. This isn't democratic. We can't eat money. We shouldn't rely on foreign countries for food. Please reconsider opening the greenbelt.
