This is a policy the Conservatives promised they would never propose. Are we expected to believe in a group of people who directly act in opposition to their promises? One of the best things about Ontario and about Canada generally speaking is our care for green spaces and the environment. This directive acts against one of the few remaining pieces of incredible green space that Ontario has to offer. Especially to those of us in the city who cannot otherwise easily escape. Not only is it important for the community but it also houses an incredible amount of wildlife and native plant species which we would directly we jeopardizing the health and welfare of. The animals don’t go away, they just invade the cities. It’s more unsafe for everyone. There are alternative options. Houses sit unused and unsold after a huge boom in interest, construction projects taper and fail because of supply chain issues. Now is not the time to be disrupting our green space for prolonged construction projects.
