I am dismayed by the Ontario government's proposal to build houses on the Greenbelt. I am opposed to more urban sprawl- housing should be built in existing communities, even if it means building up rather than out.
I am opposed to reducing requirements to reduce carbon emissions associated with buildings. There is no problem more important than reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change.
The integrity of the Greenbelt must be maintained, and not split up, as the Ford govt is proposing. Southern Ontario is home to a variety of biodiversity which is already threatened by urban sprawl. Splitting it up into smaller sections would only put more species of animals and plants in danger.
Please, please keep the Greenbelt intact!
