To whom this may concern,
After much research both in an academic and a community setting, I strongly believe that the construction of highway 13 would be extremely detrimental to wildlife and local ecosystems and to the health of surrounding populations. While I recognize that this project offers opportunities for economic growth and job creation, these benefits do not in any way outway the consequences. Although this is being proposed as a response to the housing crisis, there is little to no evidence showing that the residences built as part of this project will actually be available to low-income Canadians. Further, the fact that the highway would cut through valuable agricultural lands, which currently provide a large portion of Ontario's food supply, could significantly affect the price of food, which is already at an all-time high. As a "program," this project would do an outstandingly bad job at completing its goals and could use an entire reworking, which should take into account the opinions of those affected by it.
Thank you for your consideration.
