While the need for housing is apparent - to disregard one of the most progressive
, well thought out and scientifically justified acts in Ontario’s history is an irresponsible action that will not be reversible once ecosystems have been destroyed. This seems like a simple solution to a complex problem that involves broader thought than simply building more homes. Vacant properties and houses being held onto for speculation, encouragement of growth and infrastructure on areas outside of the green belt would help alleviate some of the issues, maintain environmental integrity and see development and economic benefit to areas outside of the immediate GTA.
