I do not agree with Bill 23. We do not need to open land in the current Greenbelt to be developed for housing. There are plenty of lands within urban growth boundaries to accommodate future housing. There are municipal and provincial lands that could be built on. For example the City of Toronto could build housing over the Allen Road and subway car and repair yards such as the Wilson Yard and The Pocket (Greenwood yard). What we do need is protection for the Greenbelt which is the source of water for so many people in the GTA and grade A farmland that feeds the GTA with local crops. Opening the Greenbelt for development is outdated 1950's City Planning thinking. We do not need more sprawl in the GTA. We also do not need to build Highway 413 and the Bradford by-pass which will create more sprawl.
