I'm whole heartedly against this proposal. There is no reason we need to build on the greenbelt, there is lots of land in other places that is far more suitable. The government's own experts have even suggested this.
The whole reason we put these conversation groups in place was because developers build around the don valley on land they shouldn't have, and it led to serious flooding at those homes. Seeing that climate change will only worsen our flooding risk, removing these water sheds is short sighted and will cost us 10x in the future.
This proposal wants to remove a bunch of fees the developers normally pay and offset that on the taxpayer. This makes no sense and only enriches the developers while making us all pay more!
Lastly, the premier is breaking his promise to never build on the greenbelt. This just proves he's been completely bought and has no interest doing what's in the best interests of Ontario.
