I don't want to see the green belt lost. Especially when what's proposed to replace it is not actually going to address any real problems from what I can see.
Cities lose out on taxes, the environment loses out from the new zoning, the new housing will contribute to sprawl. And there is nothing that actually guarantees this housing will be affordable, or any study that shows this will meaningfully push prices down.
If it's not some backroom deal to help a select few it certainly looks like one, and I have yet to talk to someone who has supported the bill, let alone make a compelling case for it.
Please don't do this.
