GHG emissions affect air quality, temperature control, health and overall quality of life. By implementing a taxing system like cap and trade, Govt. of Ontario can help businesses innovate and update their technologies, run their businesses more efficiently, minimize wastage of resources and be more environmentally responsible. The revenue generated can be used to finance pollution mitigation policies and technologies and eventually minimize future taxes. Environment and economic growth can go hand in hand- instead of considering them always as opponents, we should be supporting systems like cap and trade that promote innovation and environment.
