The reduction of farmland and forests in Ontario continues to decline and is only exacerbated when proposals such as this one are pushed through without adequate ecological assessment or consideration of wise alternatives. All of the regions within and surrounded by the Greenbelt have faced significant pressure from development over the past 30 years. Urban planning in Ontario needs to prioritize use of land that is already designated residential and cannot rely on twisting the truth for an easy solution. This proposal needs to stop and should not move ahead.
