What is disgusting about this legislation is that, despite a pro-business government proposing this, they haven't considered how this will affect the agriculture sector and food suppliers. They're so obsessed with getting people into trades, but completely forget that we all need to eat, regardless of what we do for a living. Food isn't affected by just the local environment, but the whole world's ability to balance our life support systems. By just miraculously finding land somewhere else to do what the Greenbelt is supposed to, you disrupt nature even more. Sure, people need houses, but there's plenty of residences the wealthy are using for investments instead of their intended use. If they need real estate to invest in, why not help with the food supply by investing in vertical farms, instead of building for condos 98% of people here and abroad can't afford?
