These proposed amendments to our County's Official Plan are well considered with respect to both our broad county community and the provincial community in keeping with Ontario's amended Growth Plan.
The concept of complete communities will be a critical consideration as our County move forward and the proposed graded growth is key to protecting the character of our communities while supporting growth. Defined primary urban, secondary urban, hamlets and other rural "communities" permit the growth of various types of complete communities through the consolidation of servicing costs, retention of community hubs and preservation of rural lands.
The allocation of lands for the development of a Regionally Significant Economic Zone recognizes the reality of two major transportation routes intersecting in our County and the sensibility of defining while confining a land area needed for servicing associated transportation options.
I urge the province to approve these amendments without change.
